The Tyler Azalea 10k - March 24, 2012 - 8 a.m.
The Tyler Azalea 10k is been staged on one of most beautiful courses in Texas. Mile after mile of azaleas, dogwood trees and spring flowers that you have to see to believe. The breathtaking beauty of our Azalea and Spring Flower Trail has been praised by visitors as a floral wonderland and a photographer's paradise." Trophies will be awarded in the 10k to the overall male and female finisher plus the top male and female master finishers. We will have awards for the top three finishers of the 10k in the following age groups: 12 & under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+.
Although chip timing affords run events to produce quick fast timing results, it was never intended to be the benchmark for finish order. We feel that this is a foot race against other human beings and not against a computer system. The first one back across the finish line is the winner. If your finish placement is important to you, we suggest you line up in the front rows at the start.

Two-Mile Fun Run/Walk:
Walk or run the shorter distance and still see much of the beauty. Bring the whole family and have a great time. The 2-mile fun run will start at the same time as the 10K. We will present awards to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 8 & under, 9-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, & 70+. We will have awards for the overall male and female plus overall masters male and female in the 2-mile.

The 50 Yard Dash (Children age 8 and under)
This a great opportunity for the smaller kids to be featured and cheered on while running. We will run waves of children 6-8 at a time so each kid gets that special attention! There will be finisher medals for all kids crossing the finish line. Children 5 & Under can run the 50 Yard Dash (if they are not running the 5k) at no charge. Registration for all children doing the 50 Yard Dash does not need to be done in advance. You only have to sign a liability waiver for your child when you pick up your packet or race day at the event. We will have plenty of child T-shirts available for all.
