Timing:
The Tyler Azalea 10k will use chip timing at this year's event.
We will be featuring the latest chip timing system, IPICO.
This system uses timing chips that will be attached to your
running shoes. You will get
your loaner
chip at the event race morning. Although
chip timing is a efficient way to time events and produce
results quickly, all awards will be based on gun time, not
chip time. This is not a race against a computer, but against
real people in the same age group as you. |

Benefiting:
The Tyler Azalea 10k benefits The Children's Village. Over
the past 20 years Children's Village has provided quality
24 hour, long term residential foster care for over 220
boys and girls from the Tyler area. It currently has 2 large
homes in a campus setting that serve boys and girls ages
6-18. Since both boys and girls are served, brother and
sister siblings can remain together in care. Children's
Village is dedicated to helping youths who, because of family
dysfunction and abuse, find their lives, values, relationships
and hopes for the future shattered by their present circumstances.

The
Tyler Azalea 10k
The Tyler Azalea 10k is been staged on one
of most beautiful courses in Texas. I will steal a paragraph
from the web site of the Tyler Chamber of Commerce about the
Annual Azalea & Spring Flower Trail that you will be able
to enjoy after the race. "Mile after mile of azaleas,
dogwood trees and spring flowers that you have to see to believe.
The breathtaking beauty of our Azalea and Spring Flower Trail
has been praised by visitors as a floral wonderland and a
photographer's paradise." Trophies will be awarded in
the 10k to top male and female master finishers. We will have
awards for the top three finishers of the 10k in the following
age groups: 12 & under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,
35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+.
